JOIN THE ‘BUILDING WYOMING’ CONVERSATION ON FACEBOOK
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – An online forum on the social networking site Facebook is the latest place where Wyoming residents can share their ideas about the state’s future.
In an effort to reach out to young people and to all residents who communicate online, the “Building the Wyoming We Want” initiative launched a Facebook page this week.
During the upcoming Building the Wyoming We Want conference on June 9 and 10 in Casper, young people from the University of Wyoming, Casper College and Kelly Walsh High Schools will be sending updates on Twitter and Facebook and will be blogging about the event. They will also be gathering video, taking photographs and recording interviews with conference attendees.
“Where better to continue this conversation about the state’s future than on the Web?” asked Terry Cleveland, who heads the initiative’s advisory committee.
To join the growing number of fans of the Building the Wyoming We Want initiative on Facebook, go to: www.facebook.com and search “Building Wyoming.”
To follow the initiative on Twitter, visit:
http://twitter.com/BuildingWyoming.
“We hope people will become fans of the ‘Building Wyoming’
Facebook page and will spend some time there sharing what they love best about the state,” said Rachel Girt, marketing and public relations manager for the Wyoming Business Council who sits on the Building the Wyoming We Want communications team. “This site is a place where we hope an active discussion will continue about what people value most highly about the state and want to protect going forward.”
Cleveland said registration for the conference is building quickly, and he said those interested in attending should register soon to ensure they’ll be able to attend.
